Key West

...I had so much fun this trip to Key West. The last time I was in Key West I did not think I would be back any time soon, if at all. So I have to say thanks to my host, Joe, Joy, and Hellen. For welcoming us into their home. It is a unique home they have, they took an old frame house removes the walls and remodeled. They removed the flat ceilings and refinished the rafters into a ceiling that conforms to the roof. Then in the back of their house they have a big room they call the Florida room. Which is where we stayed while we were there.

..Now the outside. The front yard is landscaped with tropical plants some were blooming some were just beautiful luscious green. On the left side yard was Joy's garden work area/nursery she had these old trees that grow slow and, I forgot the name of them. This tree was used during World War II to make precision ball bearings that what is so hard. Joe told me that there is only like 20 of these trees on the island. Well Joy has at least 30 seedlings I think she had some one to five years old maybe a whole foot high. She gave me one and I had here in Arkansas, but it's growing in my window. Two years old amd it is about two inches high. As you move into the back yard you find a comfortable place. There is a custom swimming pool with a smart Jacuzzi. With several different types of long trees surrounding the parameter of the yard. Off of the Florida Room is a permanent hung canopy that covers the swimming pool to keep the sun from overheating the pool. So you find yourself outside but protected like a Spanish courtyard. I guess I will call it the tropical paradise.
