Buffalo River
From Erbie Campground To Pruitt
February 21-22 2004

This is the first trip of the year because of the water levels or the weather conditions. I called Linda to see if she was up for a trip this weekend. She had plans to go canoeing with Phil, and invited me to join them.
Because we were going on the Upper Buffalo my best route was scenic Hwy 7 through the Ozark National Forest. Which is always a pleasure to drive, but the winter early spring is my favorite time. When the leaves are off the trees you are able to see the Ozark personality in the canyons and mountains .
I was on my way to meet Linda at Erbie Campground were Phil his wife Suzanne, and young Phil ended their canoe trip. Phil, Phil, and Suzanne had canoe in from Kyles Landing.
After Linda arrived and we decided where to set up camp. Phil, Phil, and I ran the shuttle. On our way out we spotted these elk. To view just click on the picture.

Floating down the river with the sycamores stretching out over the river reaching for the sun. The white bark glistening in the sun for eagles to perch high over the river. The water quality was the perfect Ozark blue green color. The air was cool to comfortable. I saw hawks, buzzards, Turkey, woodpeckers, deer, and of course elk.
