Little Red River
I had a service call up in Pangburn Arkansas. After I finish the call, I ventured down to the Little Red river. As I paddled up river I saw an otter coming out of a side creek. I paddle alongside him at about 15 ft.. It did not seem to mind that I was there. When he reached the other side I turned around to see where he came out of. I paddled up this high bank creek and took a few pictures. About the time I was finished and ready to leave the creek I noticed that the otter was back. So I sat still in watched, it did not seem to mind that I was there. As I watched him, he was working the creek bank searching the holes for crayfish. Once it had its mouth full it headed back across the river to feed it babies.
On the right a sunflower from my yard. The group of pictures below are from the Ouachita National Forest. These purple con flowers are one of my favorite wildflowers. Butterflies are attracted to them too. The last three pictures is the Saline River where it is no more than just a creek. This spot is only 25 mi. from my house. It is where the river runs in to a rock bluff, and washed a deep hole.

Ouachita National Forest
Purple coneflowers and butterflies. Purple coneflowers are one of my favorite wildflowers in Arkansas. Auburn fork of the Saline River this spot that I like to go to is 25 miles from my home. It is upstream from Lake Winona where the River is narrow not much more than a creek. It runs up against a bluff, and over time the flooding water washed out a whole about a half a mile long.
