On the Home Front
This year has really been hard on my land. Starting with the ice storms at the beginning of the year, that bent over or broke off the tops in my trees. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, and high winds have all taken their toll on my poor trees.
In the first picture the wind blew over part of my fence. Strange thing is that it was blown down in the direction that the wind normally does not blow from. The next five pictures are a once large sweet gum tree in my front yard. Lightning blew the top off of it. It is the strangest thing I live in the lowest part of the surrounding land, and the trees in the front yard have been struck by lightning many times.
These pictures are from a nest of a bluetail lizard were found in my backyard when I was cleaning up. In my garden I use boards to hold down black plastic to control weeds. When I was placing plastic on the ground I picked up a board to use. I found this lizard nest, so I carefully set the board backed down, and waited for the day that they would hatch.
